of the very few pictures to survive of the
inside of a between-wars teashop. The
picture is taken about 1920. The teashop
is situated on the corner of 321 Oxford
Street and Dering Street, it opened in
January 1907. Its code was X4 and it
closed in December 1966. The cast iron
framed tables with their marble tops were
discontinued soon after this picture was
taken as they were found to be too heavy
to move for floor cleaning.
