picture of Greenford Canal Basin was one
of the pictures which Lyons commissioned
just after Greenford became operational in
about 1920. The barge on the right is
called Trial and it was the first barge to
make its way from Brentford Lock on the
Thames all the way to Greenford. for the
first part of the journey it was pulled by
steam tug. The later part of the journey
it was pulled by two shire horses.
